Thanksgiving and Diet, How do You Stick To It?

It won't be so hard. With Thanksgiving this week, my favorite holiday, I've decided I'm just going to enjoy it fully. I'll eat, drink and be merry with my family as usual. I'm responsible for the pies and rolls this year. I've ordered rolls from Panera Bakery but I'll be making 2 pumpkin pies. Pie crusts are my specialty. I really do make great pies. Never really liked pies 'til I made 1 myself and realized their tasty yummy-ness.

Now that doesn't mean I'm gonna eat everything to wild extreme. I will be conscience of how much I eat. I still want to try to eat a lot of vegetables first so I can get full on them before I start in on the literal, meat & potatoes. Those are "free" calories on this plan. Then I'll go after the bird & fixin's. And, oh yes, I'm having pie w/whipped cream. Sue me.

Anyways, I'll jump back on the nutrition plan bandwagon on Fri. and I'm not gonna feel guilty 1 little bit. It's not like the foods we have are unhealthy, it's that there's always so much of it and it's all so darn good.

Wow! I can't believe it's been 1 month since I started on this nutritional journey. I've seen some real changes in my body, I'm happy to say. Still have a long way to go but I like what I'm seeing and feeling so far.

Total lb's lost so far is 12.2! I finally took my measurements. Eeeeuuuuuuuwwwwww! But they are less than when I started, which is a scary thought, but nobody's fault but my own. So nobody to work on it but myself. Here are the 1 month photo's. I'm wearing the same clothes as you can see. You may not see much difference yet yourself. I' say, the real noticeable changes will show in January.

Day 1
I am roasting some zucchini, yellow squash and grape tomatoes right now and will then, roast some asparagus afterwards. The house smells soooooo good right now with the garlic and the Parmesan cheese. I'm so glad that I love veggies. I posted the super simple recipe for it on the recipe page. You could roast most any veggie this way

I'm still doing the barre workout at home along with the walking and aquatic work I do with my clients. It really feels good to be taking care of myself for myself.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Here's to being with family and/or friends. To being thankful for all you have or the potential to have and be.

I get that the Native Americans have a different take on this day than the rest of us. But what we all need is to remember to respect one another.

When I was still in S.F. some friends and I would get together for an "Orphans Thanksgiving" pot-luck. None of us had family in the area so we all had our meal assignments and decided on who's home we'd have the dinner at and voila! It was fabulous.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Peace out and keep dancing.
