Today I'm "on-call" for the morning hours at work, got the last load of laundry in, need to clean the house, want to take dance class, then G. (my sis) is gonna come by for the afternoon & bring her dog Rowdy over to re-acquaint him w/Putney & meet Cray-ray, get him used to the doggie door, etc. Could be interesting. He has been around cats before but who knows how the kitten'll respond to this invasion of his world. He'll just have to deal. It's only for a week.
I did make my appointment to get my legs waxed next Sat. OUCH! No way am I going into surgery with hairy legs. Nope, not gonna do it. I still need to get my hair cut and nails done. I'm gonna feel like crap so I might as well look decent, right? They don't look sooooo bad 'cuz I've been doing this for over 2 decades and frankly, much the hair has just given up now. Thankfully! I had my dad's hairy limbs. Good Grief! But still, I won't have people that close to my legs seeing what is still there. Yuck. That along with my bikini lasering and house cleaning being done on Fri. I'm gonna be flying again. Oh well, I'm going to doing next to nothing for quite some time after so I might as well get crazy before hand. I'd also like to get in a massage. Could use it right about now. Better call Sergio!
My friend Barbara Appelbaum informed me that another reason I'll drop some lb.'s is 'cuz apparently one just doesn't feel like eating much for 3-4 days after this surgery. Hmmmmmmmm, I can't imagine not wanting to eat for 3-4 days. Me? We'll just have to wait & see won't we? Ha-ha! Again, it won't harm me to skip a few meals. I certainly won't be moving much but probably more than I'll want to so ... we'll just have to see. Don't worry, I'm gonna be taking what ever drugs they prescribe for me. I'm not a hero. I just want to be better than I am now.
When I do get back to working I'll be, hopefully, thinner, more mobile, more able and full of piss & vinegar to get going again.
I managed to get in a couple of cardio-type workouts last week. Had to utilize the up-right bike, blagh, but something was better than nothing. 1st day I just did a steady-state workout of 35 min. but the 2nd day I did a Tabata interval workout. That's a HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training workout. 5 min. warm-up then 4 min. of 20 sec. hard-10 sec. easy, another 5 min. active recovery, rinse, lather, repeat. I did 3 rounds plus a 5 min. cool-down. It definitely gets the heart rate up there.
The Ranch also had Yarrow King come out and give a workshop on some of the ethnic styles of dance typically included & played in our "world beat" class. My personal favorite class ever. I did participate in the workshop as well and followed it by teaching the aforementioned class right after. Quite a cardio week for me. Felt good. There's just something special about the drumming and the dance and the way it makes me feel. So free and yet so grounded. I always say it's about community working together. I truly believe that. If you get a chance to try it, please do. Go & celebrate.
Pretty much laid out the rest of my dance piece for the ladies. M. blew a gasket when I stated that they needed to come up with their own solos of 16 cts. I just don't have the time left. it's really more about blocking left with just a teeney bit of choreography to add then the chorus repeats and the ending. Whew! It really is tough to get multiple women together.
Stay healthy everyone, go hug someone today. Peace out.
