Ohhhhhh, I finally got sick. It took about 1.5 months for it to really "hit" me but Hit me it did. I wash my hands often, not obsessively, but quite often. I'm not around the hoards of people who fly in & out of town daily, or who have a lot of kids, but...I got hit.
I finally had to cancel on my sis and request subs for a couple of my classes. I taught 3 classes at the beginning of the week with virtually no voice. I had to text my sis her workouts the last 2 days of the week and didn't go to a "retreat" at 1 place I teach at.
I never had a fever per se, but my temperature never reached "normal." It was continuously below normal. Congestion, big time, in my lungs and just no energy to do anything. I would get outa bed around 4-5pm 'cuz my bedroom tv won't get Millionaire and Jeopardy so I had to go in the living room to watch them. Poor me.
I thought about going to the Dr. but every time I would go, in years past, I would get sent home with nasal spray and a decongestant, so I just thought why bother now. Now, I'm not suggesting you don't go see your Dr. if you're ill, I'm just saying I didn't notice anything different in my symptoms from previous years so I decided against going.
I decided to try some homeopathic kinds of relief. I gargled with a solution of warm, not hot, water, salt, baking soda and apple cider vinegar. Worked like a charm! On day 3 of this thing, when I 1st cancelled on my sis, I couldn't even swallow a sip of coffee. My throat was soooo swollen and raw. This solution quickly calmed down the swelling and the rawness in my throat. Next I made a "tea" of warmer water, honey, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. I drank that down while it's still warm and it helped break down the mucous. I never realized the many benefits of apple cider vinegar (ACV) until someone suggested it to me. I decided to look it up on the internet. I am a true believer now.
It is suggested to use the raw, organic ACV but I didn't have that and just used what I had. Still it helped. I am going to buy some of the organic (the kind with bits of stuff in it) to keep on hand from now on though. I just never feel like getting dressed and going to the store when I'm under the weather. Do you? So I didn't.
"Apple cider vinegar contains an array of nutrients including vitamins B1, B2, A, and E, calcium, and magnesium. These nutrients help clear the sinus cavities and treat allergy symptoms. Additionally, ACV thins mucus almost immediately. One of the first things you will notice after drinking apple cider vinegar is that the color of your mucus goes from white or green and thick, to thin and clear. The thinning of mucus is the key to kicking your sinus infection." Taken from EarthClinic website www.earthclinic.com/sinus-infection/apple-cider-vinegar-cure.html
There are quite a few websites touting the benefits of ACV. Anything from cleaning windows and mirrors, which I do use, to helping hair which I used to do, to weight loss and the like. Check 'em out. I think you'll be surprised. Drink up and enjoy life!

Please stay healthy but if you begin to feel the onset of something, start taking care of it right away. Give this a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the relief.
Stay well and keep dancing.
