I'm happy to say that my 3 boys and I are doing fabulous together. Everyone gets along great for the most part. Of course there's a mild scuffle from time to time but no biting, just a little posturing. All is good. It's kinda nice having this much love and affection in the house. Although, I do have to watch my footing alot. I had to go buy Cray-ray another (this is his 4th) collar with a bell on it, so I know where he is. He's not that thrilled with it but he'll get used to it again. I wonder how long this 1 will last. Did you know that yesterday was National S'mores Day? Seriously. I understand National Doughnut Day but s'mores? "They" believe that s'mores were invented by the Campfire Girls but it wasn't until the Girl Scouts published the recipe around 1927, that they became widely known and therefore thoroughly enjoyed. There doesn't seem to be any real verification that it truly is a national holiday, which would need to be from an act of Congress by the way, (we know how fast they tend to work at getting things done, don't we?) so I say Who cares? Lets eat! Just 1 though. Last week at work was a bit draining, I have to say. the universe just seemed off. I was exhausted from nothing and it seemed to be the same for most of my colleagues too. Nothing went quite right. I'm so glad its over and I'm on to a better feeling in the universe. Next week is dance week at work again and I'll be performing in my Metallica belly dance piece. Should be a hoot. My bud M. never did get me the video she took of the dance last time so hopefully we'll get it this time. Ooooh, there's thunder crashing outside right now. I got caught in a rainfall on my home from work but it stopped about 3 miles from home. I think I might get some here at the house soon though. Big crack just over head. Poor Putney is none too happy about this thunder. My poor bear. I guess he'll be "protecting" me 'til it passes by. I made a wonderful pasta sauce over the weekend. Pored it over some cheese tortillini with a bit of freshly grated Parmesan cheese for dinner last night. I even took some to work for my boss. This time instead of removing the sausage from the casings, I just cut them into chunks for sausage balls. As per usual, I use 1/2 sweet Italian and 1/2 hot Italian sausages. I spray the crockpot with olive oil, plop in the meat, added 1 can each of tomato paste, diced tomatoes and crushed tomatoes, 4 cloves of fresh garlic smashed, thyme, oregano and basil, sea salt, fresh ground pepper plus 1/2 a red onion, 1 C water, alot of red wine and some sugar. (The sugar to cut some of the acidity of the tomatoes). I slow cooked it for about 6 hours. YUM! 1/2 of the sauce went directly into the freezer. 1 healthy sized container in the fridge and a 1/2 sized container to my friend & boss. If you read my blogs, you know I don't often make things the same way twice. I like trying different spices and ingredients depending on my mood. Here's my point, don't be afraid of change. Go for it. You might surprise yourself by liking a different flavor or exercise regimen. A new style of workout can really be a treat. Just like a new tasty treat. Just because dance is my main love doesn't mean that I don't like to try other types of cardio or strength workouts. Don't get bogged down with the same ole, same ole. Your body will thank you for it. It may respond by losing weight, gaining weight if you want, getting firmer or stronger, increasing your stamina or your mental awareness. Be adventuresome. Test those boundaries, enjoy life. Peace out folks and stay healthy |
