Ya-hooey-looey! Anther lb. down. It's been a nice slow, steady weekly drop here. Even though I had a kind of vacation week last week. By that I mean I only taught 1 class and trained a couple of clients.
I didn't have to get up at 4:30-5:00 am for the week and 1 pool is down for maintenance for 2 weeks, and then the weather and pool temp for another class (outdoor pool) was too cold for even my most die-hard client who was walking out of the pool as I was walking towards it. No class!
That I was still able to drop another lb. is wonderful. I'm back to all but the 1 pool still closed 'til the end of this week. Just goes to show you it's a combination of nutrition and exercise. Not one over the other but both.
I decided to try a home delivery meal service a couple of weeks ago and I have been pleasantly surprised by it. There's quite a few out there but I've tried Home Chef. I've had a couple weeks of deliveries and I have to tell you, the meals are delicious and the fairly healthy.
I don't believe in diets but I do believe in nutrition, balancing proteins and carbs and eating to satisfaction and not to stuffed, and still enjoying the tastes of the foods. Amazingly enough the calorie counts/meal are pretty low.
I don't have one of the Home Chef meals every night and you can choose your meals/week along with having dietary choices such as low carb, gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan. You can "skip" a week or more as you wish, which I have done 'cuz I have way too much food in the house right now.
The meals I order are for 2 people and I get 3 meals/week. The cost is $9.95/meal and then shipping is free. I can get 2 to 3 meals out of each meal sent me.
I have to say, the steak had to be the most tender steak I've ever had. Absolutely amazing. everything comes with the meals, right down to a little package of flour with my chicken meal. The only things you have to supply seem to be EVOO and salt & pepper.
For those eco-aware folks, everything in the packing is eco-friendly and can be re-cycled. I love that myself. No plastic packing or Styrofoam.
So far the meals I've had have been around 5-600 calories ea. Not bad, eh? I never feel starved after, either. I still have the tendency to eat my veggies 1st then my protein but not always. In fact, I often cannot finish my meal and get 2 out of each individual meal I make.
On a sad note, my Belly Dance teacher, Kathryn Ferguson, passed away after a sudden illness last Sunday. She was a gifted dancer/instructor, a volunteer in delivering water and food to those crossing the desert, an author and lecturer. I learned a lot from her and she encouraged me to test my boundaries in my dance.
Thank you Kathryn, for all you gave. Be at peace.
Keep dancing (as I will). Peace
