Oh, and by the way, this entire month of June we've been in the 100's temperature-wise. No end in sight yet. (My tongue is hanging out to the right side of my mouth here! You can't tell the dirt from a huge puddle and you drive through and realize, way too late I might add, that your up to the middle of your vehicle in water. They usually hit around 3-6 in the afternoon. And I mean HIT! And... sometimes at both times mentioned. It can be all beautiful blue skies, white, billowy clouds and the next few seconds you're running for your life to find some shelter and not get hit by lightening.
You can see a massive downpour a few miles away while you're in sunshine. It's like a wall or curtain. You can literally drive in & out of the monsoon several times. Absolutely nuts. I just saw on the news that there's been over 200 people ill from heat-related issues. Be safe, please.
When I woke up this morning I looked outside on the patio to see Putney & Oreo lying by each other. It was such a cute sight to see. 2 typically mortal enemies who've learned to live, quite happily, together. I started thinking, wouldn't that be amazing if the humans would do that? Republicans & Democrats, Protestants & Catholics, Gays & Homophobes, Israel & Palestine, Christians & anyone else. Sorry I couldn't help it, I just had to go there.
Anyways, I just had to take a picture. We can learn from these 2 loving & loved animals. Love is love, it's never a bad thing. Mind your own business! There, I'm done with the soapbox now.
I had to go out & put the patio chairs & tables & rugs up & away before the rains do come & wreck 'em all. Tomorrow I'll need to bring down the umbrellas. They can snap like twigs if ya don't. Now I need to go out & pick up some poop! Ya-hoo!
Making baby-backs for my sis & I tonight. I've already pre-cooked 'em in the oven while walking the dog. Now their resting in the fridge. Yup, that's right, I cooked the ribs for an hour at 350 degrees, covered in foil w/ Buck& Judy's Dang Rub # 39 dry rubbed on 'em at 6:15 am. That way when it's 112 degrees out we won't be b-b-q'in ourselves. They'll hit the grill for about 15 min., get basted with sauce and Voila! Feeding time. Yum.
By the way #39 rub is the Espresso rub from Buck & Judy's Dang Rubs. Different & delicious. Man, I can't wait until you all can try them. You'll just flip.
Well, the x-rays were taken on my knee and there's good reason for the pain to be running down the shaft of my tibia, (shin bone). 2 years ago, there was space between my femur and tibia, now, 0 pace between the 2 on the lateral side. We're gonna continue with the injections at this point, I have 1 more next week to go, and see how long I'm pain-free. Again, this last time was only 3.5 months. If it gets to be that again or less it may be time for the replacement. Dr. J did say that all of my exercising was a big help to my postponement of the operation so far so to keep it up. Don't worry Doc, I will.
This is my last full week-end to myself for awhile. I begin teaching across town next Sat. teaching a couple pool classes at 8 & 9 am. The extra cash won't hurt either. We're basically starting this program from scratch. I so look forward to the challenge. I still need to write up a little ditty about the classes I'm gonna offer, along with some names. Eventually I'll add some other types of classes but this is a great start. But first, cleaning, pickin' up poop, super conditioning my hair and so-on & so-on. Off I go.
Again folks stay hydrated, eat well & have fun.
