It felt great, for me, to not be on the edge with choreography this time. I decided to take a break, just dancing in 1 instead. Don't get me wrong, I love to choreograph but it is tiring & tough with our time constraints and all. M & D were amazing with M's hip-hop piece and M even got her fiance, another M, out there dancing. So freakin' cute! I'm already listening to music for next May though. I've been asked by someone to choreograph something she can be in so... !
Now, on to the serious side, the flu. I just heard this weekend that the flu vaccine out there doesn't work on the newest flu type out there. It does with all of the other strains but not the new 1. So, please, if you start feeling the symptoms, STAY HOME! Don't go to work and infect your co-workers. Not nice.
Whats the difference between the flu & a cold you may ask well I've done some homework for ya.
According to the Huffington Post, the flu is typified as an all over achy body thing whereas the cold is mainly an upper respiratory thing.
The flu is also a respiratory infection but with other systemic symptoms such as fever, chills, body aches, headaches, dry coughing. The cold shows mainly as a runny nose and
When or even should you go to the Dr.? Well, in most cases you really don't need to go but if you experience severe dehydration, lethargy, confusion, hell yeah, GO! If you're pregnant, your child is under 5 yrs., you have an immune system disorder, yes, Go! Otherwise, just stay home, stay hydrated and take care of yourself. It won't do you, your family, friends and co-workers any good if you infect them with the flu virus. Or a clod for that matter.
Have you heard of the Surfset? Well, I have now. It's a surfboard on top of a long base attached with a pair of bungee-like cords on both sides to remove to alter the amount of stability, with 3 inflated bladders (balls) in between the board and the base to really cause instability. Whew! It's going to be awhile before I'm comfortable on the board with my new knee. It's fairly high and I've just recently been able to step up on a high podium and a workout bench without holding onto something so I'm pretty nervous. It's really unstable. And getting up isn't really the hard part, it's getting down that's the real issue. I need to check the warranty on my knee. It's not uncommon to come off of the board unintentionally, if you get my drift. I will say that what I did manage to do on the board caused me a bit of soreness in my chest, shoulders & upper arms. Good stuff.
I found it kind of interesting that my new knee felt okay with being up on the board but my "good" knee did some talking to me. Hmmmm, what can that mean, I wonder.
I do know what I need to do to begin working on this board. If I continue the strength work, get on a Beamfit beam, a 360 board, my coreboard and practice some step-ups I should be able to gain the confidence and strength to work on the Surfset. I just need to be patient with myself and get the work done.
Merry Christmas to me! I just recently bought a new leather sofa and recliner chair and they got delivered last week. Man, are they ever gorgeous. I love them.
Cray-ray, the cat has kind of taken over the sofa, yes, I have a throw over it. He gets right in the middle of the sofa. He seems very happy on the thing. Thankfully the 2 dogs don't get up on the furniture. They'd be wrecked in no time if they did.
Now be sure to be aware with all of the holiday parties going on right now. Drive responsibly, drink responsibly and stay safe for yourself and others. We want you all around this upcoming year.
Keep dancing and...
