Using the silence, yes, there is silence in movement as well, was very loud. It's hard not to move. It makes you feel very vulnerable, very open. It can be very scarey. But...it inspired me. My co-worker M. came to the workshop too and we're going to attempt a dance in this fashion for Dec.s Dance week performance. I've already picked the music. We need to wait 'cuz she has a lot on her plate right now.
I told you all about the VIPR training we had at work 2 weeks ago. I think I really like it. My adductors were so sore afterwards, I have to admit, other co-workers felt different muscle groups but for me it was the inner thighs. Am I nuts? I like getting that feeling at times.
This piece of equipment is a weighted tube with some handles in it in different places. It's not meant to be used as just a weight bar. It's for utilizing all planes of motion and I do mean motion. Ideally, you're supposed to link a series of movements together into 1 flowing dance-like action.
Our trainer was quite good. He gave s all of the tools necessary and asked us questions then had us try to change the skill learned in different ways such as backing it up to a basic for beginners, advance it for high-level clients, change the plane of motion, etc. He had personality and wit, all the while letting us be us. We can be a little daunting for the weak of heart. Sorry, but we can be.
I used the VIPR on a client and he was surprised at the effort needed to perform the moves I gave him. Good stuff people but I think it's a little expensive. Oh well, movin' on.
As for my weight loss, I'd actually put a little back on but got it back off again, thankfully. It is so hard to do but I'm so not giving up on myself.
I'm using 2 different apps on my phone for food journalling. They both allow me to post my intake but 1 only lets me post walking, biking, jogging/running (like that;s gonna happen). The other allows me to type in daily activities and specific types of workouts like dancing or walking the dogs. I get a kick outs doing both of these apps 'cuz at times, they give me very different caloric accounting for my foods eaten. Interesting, eh? Oh well, they're free and they're on my phone for heaven's sake. Can't expect pure perfection right?
One app is the S health app from health 4me through my health insurance and the 2nd is MyNetDiary.
It can be a little time consuming but I like to compare the results. What they both do is hold me accountable for what goes in.
Peace out people.Keep dancing
